AC Shadows Reveals Surprising AoT Crossover for Thanksgiving
In a surprising crossover event that challenges usual forecasts, the game developer has unveiled an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Strange Adventure Uncovered
According to the official release, "An unusual encounter draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where whispers of banned ceremonies and monstrous transformations resonate through the darkness." The narrative presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with journeying into the Crystalline Cavern—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret sect.
The adventure concentrates on "peculiar trials and a monstrous adversary" and is accessible to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses
The teaser showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview concludes with a dramatic moment showing a character, likely the hostage, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Additional Material
Players who successfully complete the quest will receive an unique katana together with several artifacts concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This release also brings the game's latest free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some lingering questions from the main storyline.
